Bermuda triangle IV.

2015

21 x 30 cm

Bermuda Triangle as space for free conception of an image. I connect two disparate universes - personal photos and photographic reproductions from books. By merging I seek to transform these two into a new image characteristic of a gorge – a place for recipient´s own projection, a place of mystery, a gap in time into which things disappear, but where something new can be found.

Technique: collage (scanned photos from books), high quality digital printing. Edition of 5 pieces.

Aňa is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, a Studio of graphic design and drawing lead by prof. Jiří Lindovský. She also participated in a one-semester internship at the Studio of Photography and Video at the Bucharest Academy of Arts and other residential stays, e.g. in the Egon Schiele Art Center in Český Krumlov or Atelierhaus Salzamt in Linz, Austria. She lives and works in Prague.

She works primarily with analogue photos. For most cycles, she documents the "places of silence closed in the city noise". For example shop windows of bankrupt stores, not functional fountains in the city, or randomly created still lifes on seats of parked cars. Places preserved by timelessness and solitude.
