Alžběta Krňanská (1992) studies painting in the studio of Jiří Černický and Michal Novotný at Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. This year she defended her Bachelor Thesis called JOYFULL. Paintings she makes are inspired by American animated series, for example The Simpsons, Family Guy or Rick and Morty. As themes for her artworks Elizabeth uses different graphic abbreviations that appear in the series as packages of consumer goods in supermarkets. Carefully collected printscreens, which Elizabeth makes during the episodes, create some kind of sketchbook. Author continues to work with them and gradually unfolds color compositions which she adopted to the series of new paintings.
