*1993

visual artist, performer and underground pop star

Jiří Pitrmuc studied at the performance studio of Jiří Kovanda at the Faculty of Art and Design of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, where he graduated in 2017. Currently he is studying his master's degree at the Academy of Fine Arts at the studio Intermedia II, which is led by Pavla Sceranková and Dušan Zahohanský. During his studies, he attended a study stay at the Project Study at the LUCA School of Arts in Brussels and a sculptural studio at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. During his studies, he spent two months working in the Hungarian Kisterem Gallery in Budapest. Despite the fact that Jiří Pitrmuc is only at the beginning of his artistic career, his work is presented not only in group exhibitions, but he also exhibits himself since 2014.

In his work he is attracted mainly to conceptually tuned installations, in which he metaphorically processes impressions from the surrounding world and thus his work raises questions concerning, for example, the issues of fashion and identity (Postcompost / Gallery 209 in Brno / Jiří Pitrmuc and Adéla Waldhauserová / 2017) (I'm fine but don't pass my comfort zone / JOUR FIXE in Kassel / 2018) and personal identity (My family / 2018). The installation of Jiří Pitrmuč is characterized by the combination of different materials and artistic techniques, in which he especially combines drawing with sculptural materials.
